ZEN FIRE in The Outback Gardens

Throughout time man's desire to harness the power that is fire in the pursuit of survival has been paramount.  As fire has provided this basic need it has also been a source of fascination forging a relationship with man that continues today.

 

This Zen Fire Garden was designed to not only provide warmth on a cold night but to incorporate personal interaction with fire while putting the participants in a meditative state.

 

Described by some as an adult Etch-A-Sketch this fire feature allows one to interact with the fire in a Zen like fashion.  Through the manipulation of the sand with the proper tools one is able to create designs and patters that burn and pulse creating a hypnotizing effect transfixing all that gaze upon the flames.

 

The stylistic approach to this Zen Fire Garden balances form and function while matching the design approach of the garden and it's surrounding structures.
